The inauguration and activities of the JIDA design Museum.

The conception of the JIDA design museum originated from a series of discussions. This process led to the chance to open the museum in Shinshushinmachi, Nagano in 1997. It is first time in the world for an organization such as ours to have their own design museum and for the designers themselves to manage the museum. We believe that this autonomy is the greatest feature of this museum. The JIDA museum is the 'creative base' and through communication it aims to 'train the next generation of designers.'
