「なぜ人はあんなに椅子のことが好きなんだろうか。そもそも、椅子ってなんだろう… ひょっとすると人は無意識のどこかで動物と椅子を同じ存在として勘違いしているのかもしれない…」というデザイナーの疑問から、動物に似たシルエットを持たせることで「愛着」をデザインすることに挑戦した椅子である。それは永年椅子作りに携わってきた職人とのコラボレーションにより、背当たりや座り心地も考慮したうえで何度も試作を行い試行錯誤を重ねて実現しており、確かな職人の技とデザイナーのこだわりを強く感じる。この暖かみのある有機的なシルエットは今にも走り寄ってきそうで、その体温や息遣いが伝わってくる。

| "Why do people like that chair? Basically, what's aC chair?... Probably people misunderstand that human beings and animals share the same existence in the unconscious." A designer had questions like these.Coming from these questions, the designer tried to express this "attachment" with the silhouette of the chair that looks like an animal. In collaboration with executives who chairs were made for, many tests were conducted and much consideration was given to the feeling of the seat and the back of the chair when using it. From these points, I certainly feel the artisan's skills and the designer's passion very strongly. The silhouette of the chair gives us a warm and organic impression. It is like an animal that looks as if it would come running to us any minute now. Also it looks as if it would express our body temperature and breathing, too. |
