| With its attractive colorful doughnut-like shape, < PLUGO > (pu-la-go) is a table plug with a shape never seen before: the main body has three plug-ins and stores an extension cord. The designer Masayuki Kurakata presented it in an exhibition held to push forward cooperation between manufacturers and designers. This attracted the attention of the producer Syuuta Kashiwagi who then commercialized it. A truly fine attention to detail is hidden in this product, such as the 2.5 meter cord long enough for an eight-mat room, the doughnut-shaped profile with a gently curved surface that minimizes the size of the contact surface and prevents the plug form getting dirty or damaged in the long term. In addition, one also has to mention the optimum shape of the plug that facilitates plugging in and out. The cool packaging is attractive as well. The product is a good example for a daily utility becoming a perfected product through the knowledge of professionals. It is a good product that can bring unique visual effects onto desks occupied by cords of electronic devices. |
