	Hondaは1986年以来、自立歩行人間型ロボットの研究にとり組みその改良に努めてきた。最新デザインの＜ASIMO＞はそのネーミングが意味する「新しい時代へ進化した革新的モビリティー（Advanced Step in Innovation Mobility）」としての真価を発揮し、「HELP」、「TALK」、「WORK」、「GUIDE」、「PLAY」が可能な人間の素適なパートナーになる夢の実現をはたし始めた。高速施回走行やスラローム走行も可能で、人間の生活空間を力強く歩き出したのだ。

In 1986, Honda started researching and developing independently walking humanoid robot. This < ASIMO > model is the latest result of these efforts. It demonstrates the real value of "Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility", and heralds a new age of its name. The < ASIMO > features functions such as "help", "talk", "work", "guide", and "play". It starts letting the dream of a robot as a companion for human beings come true. < ASIMO > is characterized by a high degree of mobility, and so it can, for example, turn at high speed and is able to slalom around obstacles as well. It is an indeed strong starting point for robotic mobility in the living environment of human beings.
