＜i-U＞は「隅」や「フチ」に着目して、余分な凹凸や装飾を廃し構成部材の考え方を見直すことによって、美しい空間と使い易さを最新の機能とともに両立させているところが素晴らしい。システムを構成するバスタブや床・洗い場・座面の高いイス、また照明計画に細心の注意と配慮が払われており、シンプルでベーシックな質の高い空間を創り出している。日本の標準的なお風呂のサイズは1600×1600で、そのスペースに各社が多種多様な機能を盛り込んだプランを提案しているが、どうもカタチがヌルっとしていてスッキリ感が無い。いまや温泉旅行でしか体験出来ないが、檜風呂や樽風呂など、日本人の好きな木製の造形がこの＜i-U＞のデザインにはある。美しい直線・清潔な面などと抽象的な表現しか出来ないが、細部まで神経の行き届いた製品である。
また、置き浴槽も魅力的で、我が家の浴槽に出来ないかと思案している。

| The < i-U > pays attention to the?"corner" and "the edge", tries to abolish excessive unevenness and decorations, and takes a second look?at how to think of?the constitution component. With these points, it creates a?beautiful space and easy usage with up-to-date functions. I think it is splendid. There are prudent attentions and considerations for the bathtub constructing the system, the floor, the wash place, the chair with high the bearing surface, and the lighting plan. These points create the space which is simple, basic, and of high quality. In many system baths I receive an impact, when I can be shown this putting bathtub. Furthermore, the Japanese standard for the size of a bath is 1600×1600, and many companies propose some plans which includes many different effects for the space. Every form of these plans has a smooth surface, but there is no clear appearance. The design of this < i-U > is the wood product modelling which the Japanese favours. For example, there are Japanese cypress baths or barrel baths. We can now only experience them in hot spring travelling. I can only abstract expression, but when I see the beautiful rectilinear and the clean surface etc., I think the product is designed down to the smallest details. In addition, the putting bathtub is also attractive. I am considering taking of these as the bathtub of my home. |
