最初にこの時計を見たときに感じたのは「レストランのデザート皿のようで、オシャレ！」というものだった。壁に掛かるその姿は磁器独特の優しい風合いで、美しく澄んだ空気を運んでくるかのような佇まいだ。文字盤にふわっとできている窪みは、普段見えない重力がその存在を現し、磁器に柔らかで微妙な形を与えたかの様で面白い。雨の雫が地面に落ちたときに描く地面の痕跡を見て、これは重力の形だと気付いたという。北欧で磁器のデザインを学んだ塚本カナエさんのふんわりした優しい感性がうかがえる作品だ。

| When I saw this wall clock for the first time, I thought: "What a fashionable clock! It looks like a restaurant plate." Put up on the wall, this form gives a unique feeling due to the porcelain. It radiates an air of clear beauty. The recesses of the clock face appear fluffy. They are an interesting feature since, for one, it makes gravity visible, the existence of which is normally invisible. Secondly, they give a soft and sensitive form to the porcelain. The designer, Kanae Tsukamaoto, found the form by studying gravity as it influences rain, i.e. by looking at the traces the raindrops leave when falling onto the ground. The product shows us the gentle sense of the designer, who studied porcelain design in Scandinavia. |
