「9・11」以来、航空機内に持ち込まれる荷物の検査が一層厳重になった。アメリカでは、スキャニング等で不審物が認められた場合TSA（米国運輸保安局、以下TSA）職員の判断で鍵が付いていても壊して検査をすることができる。しかし「TSAロックシステム」はTSA認可のもと、バッグの所有者本人とTSA職員しか開けることができないシステムで、検査の際にも鍵を壊して開けることはない。この＜フィグリーナ＞はそのTSAの認可を受けた鍵である。バッグの所有者本人は本体右側のダイヤルを使って開け、TSA職員は左側底部の鍵穴を使って開ける。これなら余計なトラブルもなく安心して旅行やビジネスで使用できる。外観は、知恵の輪のようだが、手にとってみれば実に開けやすく分かりやすい。また、取り付けるとマスコットのようにお洒落で非常によく目立ち、取り付けることがうれしくなる。新たなトラベルバッグ用の定番となりそうだ。

| Since the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the inspection of carry-on luggage at airports has become stricter. In the USA, it is possible to inspect a piece of luggage when it appears to be suspicious during screening. If such a piece of luggage should be locked, the Transport Security Administration (TSA) has the authority to break the lock for closer inspection. But with this new lock system, the lock doesn't need to be broken: Only the TSA staff or the owner of the bag can open it. The <FIGURINA> system is a key-system that was approved of by the TSA. It can be opened by the owner setting the numbers on the dial on the right side of the lock and by the TSA staff using the keyhole on the left side. So, without much trouble, you can use it for private and business travel.. Judging from its appearance, it looks complicated, but once you take it in your hand, you immediately understand the system and can open it easily. When installed, it looks like a mascot, and you will be glad to have it, since it is very fashionable without being conspicuous. This might set a new trend for travel bags. |
