一見何の変哲もない木片、電源を入れると突如赤いLEDの数字が表面に浮かび上がる。何とも不思議な光景。＜TO:CA＞ は商品名のとおり、薄くスライスした天然木の裏側からLEDを透過し表示させる仕組みの置時計だ。この角材の正体が実は置き時計だとは電源を入れるまで誰も気が付かないだろう。＜TO:CA＞ がラインナップされたTAKUMIシリーズのコンセプトは「インテリアの一部を創る」とのことだが、この商品はそんなコンセプトを形にしたユニークなプロダクトだと思う。

| At the first glance, this looks like a simple chip. But when you turn on the power, red LED number suddenly come up on this surface. What a strange spectacle! The < TO : CA > is the product name, it is a clock which has the mechanism to transmit LED and show it from the reverse side of the thinly sliced natural wood. To tell the truth, maybe, no one will perceive that, as the real sense of this lumber is a clock to put, until you turn on the power. The concept of the TAKUMI series which lined up < TO : CA >, "to become a part of the interior", this commodity is the unique product which designates such a concept as shape. |
