| JIDAデザインミュージアムセレクションの活動とその役割 |
 1998年に本事業を立ち上げ、翌年より選定品紹介展を開催し今回で第7回目を迎えました。今回事業へご参加くださいました対象企業様、また展へお越しいただいた皆様、そしてこの図録をご覧いただいていますあなた様へ、この展が皆様のお蔭で継続しておりますことを心より感謝を申しあげます。 さて本事業は、弊協会が運営する「JIDAデザインミュージアム」のコレクション選定結果を公告するものです。JIDA会員に加えデザイン業界に詳しい方々からの推薦を基に、時代に即したデザイン的価値（テーマ）で絞り込みその年の選定品を決定します。その年に「気になったモノ」なら新製品でなくても構いません。 2005年2月に東京新宿のリビングデザインセンターOZONE、5月には大阪南港のATCを会場にJIDA主催の展覧会「design ∞『くらしを創るデザインの力』展」を開催しました。展覧会では、戦後から現在までのインダストリアルデザインを振り返り日本の発展の中でデザインが果たしてきた役割を考え、さらに世界に視野を広げてインダストリアルデザインの未来を展望する場として、弊コレクションも多く展示し活用する機会となりました。 デザイナー自身が企画運営するデザインミュージアムとして1997年に長野県の信州新町に「JIDAデザインミュージアム1号館／信州新町」を開設することができ、2007年には10周年を迎えます。デザインミュージアム活動の柱の一つに「次世代のデザイン啓蒙の場を提供する」があります。セレクション事業活動を通してご寄贈いただいたコレクションや関係資料をデザインや文化の共有資産として、第二段階に入る2007年には新たな「デザインミュージアム」の中で有効に活用できる場をと思い巡らせております。 |

| The JIDA Design Museum Selection activity and its role |
| The JIDA Design Museum Selection has featured high quality design products since a year after our activities started in 1998. The 7th exhibition was held this year. We greatly appreciate all of your participation in the activities and your continued support. Our mission is to promote the results of the annual "JIDA Design Museum" collection, which is based on nominations from design industry professionals in addition to JIDA members. We carefully select items with up-to-date design value and theme every year. Our "Best product of the year" is selected from old and new products. JIDA sponsored the exhibition "The Power of Design for Living" that opened at the Shinjuku Living Design Center OZONE in Tokyo in February 2005 and that was subsequently shown at ATC, Osaka Minami Airport, in Osaka in May 2005. The exhibition presented industrial design products from the postwar period to the present in order to look back on the role of industrial design during the postwar development era in Japan. Further more, it was a great opportunity to widely display our collection and envision the future of industrial design. "JIDA Design Museum 1" in Shinshu Shin Cho of Nagano prefecture, the first designer run museum, established in 1997, will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2007. One of the design museum's goals is to offer the place to illuminate the design for the next generation. As the museum approaches its second stage of development in 2007, we continue to offer our collection and the related data from contributions through selection activities as a jointly owned property of design and culture. The museum will be the place where it can utilize effectively utilize the new "Design Museum". |
