＜VAIO typeR＞は、デジタル放送の録画に対応するi.LINK端子を搭載。「VAIOデジタルTVユニット」VGP-DTU1などのデジタルチューナーをつないで、地上／BSデジタル放送のハイビジョン映像を高画質で録画できる。サラウンドに対応した高音質スピーカー、またUSBジョブコントローラーを用いることで映像編集も簡単にできる高品位なAVハードウェアだ。しかしハードウェアの進化は、同時に強烈な発熱という問題をもたらした。筐体側面を貫通する「エアインテーク」はこの問題を積極的に解決する機構でありデザイン的にも大きな特徴となっている。 このエアインテークは吸気口から遠かった熱源にも直接外気を導入し、内部全体を効率的に冷却させ、結果高い静音性をも実現した。このシンボリックなエアインテークのデザインは、自分流に使いこなせる操作性と相まり、クリエーター気分を一層高めさせる魅力を持っている。 |

| This product is a flagship model of VAIO. < VAIO typeR > connects via i.Link to the terminal, which makes possible the recording of digital broadcast. It is connected to digital tuner of VAIO, for example, the digital TV unit "VGP-DTU1" etc. and it makes possible high-quality recording of hi-vision images of terrestrial/BS digital broadcast. It can make simple image compilations using a USB job controller. With the high-quality speaker surround sound quality can be achieved. This is a high-grade AV hardware. But the evolution of the hardware brought about the problem of heat. This is positively solved by a mechanism that enables "air intake" through the side of the frame. This is also a characteristic design feature. This air intake brings the air directly to the heat source that is distant from the inlet, and efficiently cools down the whole inner part of the computer. As a result, it also reduces noise. This symbolic design of the air intake and the flexibility of the device, which you can easily manage on your own, are of particular appeal. This heightens the feeling of being a creator. |
