＜CURVE＞は、20年の歴史を持つ日本で唯一の革製品フルオーダーショップ「オーソドキシー」のオリジナル商品である。
私なりに紳士用カバンのデザインを改めて考えてみると、「これだけファッション製品のデザインが進化しているにもかかわらず何故か紳士用カバンがそこから取り残されてしまった」との思いを抱く。 その理由として、バッグは不定形のものを収納しそのまま移動させなくてならないものだが、とりわけ紳士用カバンはデザインを優先させると機能やTPOを満たせない最も制約の強いジャンルであるということがあげられる。 つまり、その狭いワク内でどれだけ広い世界をデザイン表現できるかということが求められる。しかも革製の場合、平面の素材を縫いによって立体化するため、技術はもちろん、構造的な知識をも含めたデザインセンスが問われる。 ＜CURVE＞外側の正面ポケット部分は、通常、立体を構成するときに施す木端処理をあえて平面上へ用い、さらにその平面を立体裁断とすることでこの商品の特徴でもある印象な美しいラインを形成している。またこの処理が書類の出し入れを容易にしているのだ。 その他、内張は外側との色のコントラストで美しく整え、また小物収納に便利なポケットには片マチを付けるなど、各所に心憎い配慮がなされている。 |

| The < CURVE > is an original product. It is sold by Orthodoxy, the only full order shop for leather products in Japan. The shop has a history going back 20 years. When one tries to think about the design of the bag for the gentleman again, what comes to my mind is: "The design of fashion is progressing. But, why is the bag for the gentleman left out from such designs?" Basically, the functions of a "bag" are to hold and to transport things. For this reason, especially the bag for men has the most restricted design. Because of design preferences, the function and TPO of the bag cannot be combined satisfactorily. In other words, a design is needed that shows how much in this wide world one can express within a narrow framework. Furthermore, as is the case with leather products, the designer needs not only to have a sense for technical issues but also a structural knowledge, since from the sewing of plane material a three-dimensional form will result. The front pocket on the outside of the < CURVE > forms a beautiful line that expresses the character of this product. It is very impressive. Usually, chip-controlled processing of the material is used for producing the three-dimensional form of a bag. With this product, however, processing of plane surfaces is carried out with respect and solid judgment. In addition, this way of processing facilitates taking out and inserting paper. And there are many good ideas behind the design of this bag, such as the choice of color for the lining that beautifully contrasts with the outside. Also the pocket with a gusset on one side was designed with regard to the convenient storage of small articles. |
