未だに記憶に残る名キャッチフレーズ「答え一発！」と言えば、もちろん「カシオミニ」。空前の電卓ブームを巻き起こした時価12,800円の六桁電卓は、今から約30年前にデビューした。それ以来、ミニ・キーボード、ミニ・ノートパソコンなど、積極的に「軽薄短小」に徹してきた製品開発のノウハウは、デジタルカメラ＜エクシリム＞にも申し分なく活かされている。

| One of the famous catchphrases we can still remember is "immediate reply"referring, of course, to the "Casio Mini". This six-digit calculator for 12,800 Yen started an unprecedented movement since its debut about 30 years ago. Since then, mini keyboards, mini notebooks, personal computers etc. have been developed. They use their know-how for product development trying to make things "small and light". They show a know-how in product development that results in making things "small and light". This knowledge been applied to the development of a digital camera, "Exilim". With a thickness of just 11.3mm, this camera is the thinnest in the world. It is ready within only one second after switching it on. When the user opens the shutter, it immediately takes photos, and advancing to the next frame takes less than 1 second. Like the preceding "Mini"-series, this camera's priority is business and daily use. Its slim appearance makes it a favorite for taking digital snap shots without using an optical zoom.
