初代DiMAGE Xが店頭に現れたときは、その発想に打たれた。
光学ズームでありながら、まったく前にレンズが出てこない。この利点は携帯時のみならず、いち早く撮影準備ができ、かつすぐに仕舞える。いつもポケットにいれてスナップ用に使っているが、画質は期待以上であった。 コンパクトながら、三脚のネジ穴が付いている事に、カメラメーカーのこだわりを感じる。切手大のSDカードは256MBまで選択でき容量も十分。保存機能で、日ごとにフォルダーがまとまるよう設定できるのが思いの外便利。絵日記として使っている。 ＜DiMAGE Xi＞は画素数が3.2メガピクセルとなりデジタルズームが4倍まで引き上げられた。今後本シリーズのさらなるデザインの進化が楽しみである。 |

| I was surprised by the design of the ﾒDiMAGE Xﾓ when it first appeared in the shops. It has an optical zoom, but the lens isn't prominent in the front. This advanced feature makes it quicker and easier to focus, to take a photo and to close it again. I always use my pocket camera for snapshots, but this camera takes better quality images than I expected. It is very compact and has a thread for attaching a tripod. The camera has an SD card that is the size of a stamp and can store 256 MB, which is sufficient. With preset effects, we can program it to sort pictures into a folder daily. This an unusual feature, but very easy to use, and I used it as a picture diary. The ﾒDiMAGE Xiﾓ takes a significant number of pictures (3.2 megapixel) and the digital zoom magnifies up to 4 times. I am looking forward to seeing how the design of this series will develop in the future. |
