この積み木の最大の特長はその造形だ。いわゆる一般の積み木とは異なり、5cm角の立方体を基本に45度の切り込みを上下十字に施した形態は実に様々な積み方を可能にする。この多様な積み方で積み上げられた「造形物」は単なる積み木という域を脱し美しい。
また知育玩具としてのポテンシャルも高く、積み木一つ一つの形に変化や興味を持たすのではなく、積み上げ方や積み重ねられた形に興味を持たす手法は知育玩具の基本である「遊び手の入る余地」を多く残す優れたデザインだ。 作りの点からも良く検討されており、重さや質感から木材を使用。その硬度や耐久性などのバランスを考慮しカエデ材を使用している。また木目が確認できる着色も絶妙で美しい。 このデザインが45年も前に完成していたことや、ネフ社の創業の原点となっていることに敬意を表したい。 |

| The concept of ﾒBabylabelﾓ suggests that there is a wide variety of child care products currently on the market. This is connected with the wish to enjoy the important and short time of child care. The ﾒBabylabelﾓ products are characterized by a powerful yet soft form and fresh coloring. They visualize a happy space for us with the baby. However, it is not only their outward appearance that conveys what is important for baby products. When I look at each item, I find that all the details of the design are functional. The dishes, for example, have special bases to prevent them from tipping over. The baby bath has the perfect form to support the baby and so has the chamber pot. The product design highlights these details as some lovely things, and that I greatly admire. Handling these products, I feel at ease and this gives me a happy feeling. |
