| 最近「デザイン」について、地鳴りのような響きが聞こえて来ます。 言うまでも無く、その遠因は、中国の驚異的な発展を始めとするアジアの胎動が、マスプロダクションの世界で日本のオハコを奪ってしまいつつあるからです。日本は新しい商品を生み出すにしろ、より人間的なサービスを提供するにしろ、これまでと違い海図の無い航海に乗り出さざるを得ないのです。 そのような中でデザイン資産に目が行くのは当然でしょう。JIDAはこのような日本社会の激変期にあって、6年前より価値あるデザインの成果をセレクトして顕彰し、また、これをコレクションしてまいりました。この事によりデザインの大切さが少しずつ認識されて来たものと自負しております。 最近「デザインミュージアムをつくろう」とした機運が高まって参りましたが、私共の団体は立つべき足元もおぼつかずサポーターも持たない所から熱意と先見性だけでこの運動を始めてまいりました。その活動の開始は1993年11月の「JIDAキャンプ八王子」での事業構想発表で産声を上げ1995年には「カースタイリング誌108号」でその全体構想が紹介されました。また1999年4月には、デザインミュージアム設立の実現と市民とのデザイン共同学習や交流への功績に対し「第26回国井喜太郎産業工芸賞」を受賞しております。 まだまだ未熟とは言えこのように有意義な活動を続けてこられましたのも、デザインミュージアムの重要性を承知し援助して来てくださったデザインミュージアム支援会の皆様や財団法人石橋財団様、株式会社アクシス様、また常設館の在る信州新町や本セレクション事業へ快くご参加くださいました各企業様など多くの理解者をなくして今日の「JIDAデザインミュージアム」はありませんでした。私共は今後のより一層の発展を目指してまいりますが、そのためには諸賢のご協力がなければ大きな発展は望めません。今後ともよろしくご協力いただきますよう、お願い申しあげます。 |

| The activities of the JIDA Design Museum are beginning to become more wide spread. Nowadays, I hear sounds about ﾒDesignﾓ like a rumble in the ground. It is not necessary to mention that the indirect reason for this is the economic acceleration in Asia, especially the remarkable progress in China, which has been taking over Japan's favorable mass production methods. Whether selling new products or providing more personal services is concerned, Japan has to sail the sea without a chart. This is unusual. In this situation, however, one thing is certain: Everyone pays attention to design and its properties. For the last six years, JIDA has been selecting, collecting, and presenting valuable design results. In such exciting times, everyone now understands how important this is, and we are proud of our activities. Not long ago, there was the desire to found a design museum. In our case, we approached this enterprise with passion but also with the necessary foresight, since we had neither a firm basis nor supporters yet. The beginning of our activity was marked by the publication of the project plan ﾒJIDA Camp in Hachioujiﾓ in November 1993. The whole plan was introduced in Car Styling No. 108 in 1995. In April 1999, we were awarded the ﾒ26th Kitarou Kunii Industry Handicraft Prizeﾓ. We received this prize for realizing the foundation of the Design Museum and for the achievements of the collaborative research on design and the exchange between the public and us. At the beginning, we were still inexperienced. Even so, we have always continued to realize these important activities. It would have been difficult to do this without the cooperation of so many partners who understood: the members of the Design Museum Supporting Society, the Ishibashi Foundation, and Axis Inc. Furthermore, I have to mention the various companies in Shinshu-Shinmachi, where the permanent exhibition hall is located, that cooperated in realizing this selection project. Our aim is to further develop our activities in the future, and for this, we need your help. Without it, this project cannot be realized. So I would like to ask you for your continued cooperation. |
