いま製造業の大きな変革に伴い、工作機械への要求も多機能化、少量多品種生産、納期短縮、機械のダウンタイム短縮、徹底したコストダウンなど多要素に対応した開発が求められている。このような状況下ヤマザキマザックはIT技術を駆使し、単なる加工機械ではない「小さな工場」とでも呼べるマシン群を開発した。＜INTEGREX e-410H＞はその中心となる機種だ。
このマシンの特徴である「マン・マシーン・コミュニケーション」を実現しているのは外観上のデザインポイントでもある「e-TOWER」と呼ばれるコントロールセンターで、作業者はここで作業指示、稼動状態、CCDカメラによる加工進行状況、またトラブル発生時の内容などを容易に確認できる。一方、現場から離れた管理者や営業担当者は、現在のマシン稼動状況や生産指示に対する進捗状況などの情報を外部のパソコンや携帯電話によって確認することができ、また必要によりマシンへの指示もできるのだという。 商品企画とデザインとが、新次元のマシン作業環境を想い描き、熟考した結果が「e-TOWER」の開発を促進させたのだ。 外観上もう一つの特徴はドアのアルミ板ヘアライン処理で、全体をモノトーンにまとめられたカラーリングとあいまって精度感のある新鮮な印象を与えている。 |

| There is a big change in the manufacturing industry. The people want to develop construction machines that will suit every element. They must have plenty of functions, should be small but produce many kinds of products, shorten appointed day of delivery, shorten the machine down time and help to keep all the costs down. Under this condition, YAMAZAKI MAZAK used IT technology. And it evolved into a group of production machines called "the small factory". The "INTEGREX e-410H" is the main type of these. The outlook design point is a control center called the "e-Tower". It realizes the character of this machine, that is "Man - Machine - Communication". The user can easily receive confirmation about the direction of work, the actual work, watch the processing with a CCD camera, and receive details when trouble occurs. On the other side the manager or business manager who is away from the actual spot, can also get confirmation about the actual work and give instruction for progressing the production. They can do so with a personal computer from the outside or by mobile phone. If it is necessary, they can also instruct the machine. It is a resolution, which is considers the manufacture of a produce or it's design. They thought about the circumstance of machine work in a new dimension, too. This progressed into the development of the "e-Tower". One of the other characters of the outside design is the hairline processing of the door. The whole colors scheme is monotone.
