ホンダから「P2」，「P3」に続いて身長120センチ、体重43ｋｇの人型二足歩行ロボット＜ASIMO＞が発表された。＜ASIMO＞は近い将来に私たちの生活空間で自由自在な移動、作業をし、さまざまな活動をすることを想定して開発されて私たちが親しみをもてるデザインになっている。
＜ASIMO＞は自律しながら動き、しかも人型二足歩行ロボットなのでいつのまにか私たちは＜ASIMO＞を単に工業製品を評価するときの見方ではなくなっていることに驚く。＜ASIMO＞が世界に類の無い二足歩行技術に続いて急速に進化を続ける人工知能を身に付け私たちの日常生活に参加する時がこないとはもう誰もいえない。すでに私たちの日常生活は人工頭脳レベルのCPUを内蔵した家庭電化製品や携帯電話、自動車なしでは成り立たない。まだまだ20世紀のデザイン理論を引きずっているIDデザイナーに＜ASIMO＞は何を望んでいるのだろうか。 |

| After the "P2" and the "P3", this robot was announced by Honda. "ASIMO" is a human type robot, that can walk with two legs. It's height is 120 cm, weight 43kg. The "ASIMO" can move freely, working and acting in our living space in the near future. The design imagined it, and developed a feeling of familiarity with this robot. The "ASIMO" is moving independently. And it can walk with two legs. The reason why we took a perspective on this robot was to give valuation for it not only as an industry product. It is amazing. No one can say it's impossible that the "ASIMO" will use artificial intelligence, which is progressing very fast, and not join our daily life. Already our daily life is not established without consumer electronic products, mobile phones, cars involving CPUs on a cybernetical level. What will "ASIMO" be for the industrial designer, who still has the design theory of the 20th century. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
