すでに一つのジャンルを確立した電動アシスト付自転車。そしてその中でホンダは折りたたみタイプの開発に熱心である。
この新しい＜ステップコンポ＞はアルミダイキャストフレームを採用し、駆動ユニットとバッテリーをフレームに収めることにより美しい車体デザインを獲得した。 そしてようやく、従来の「自転車」から脱却し「電動アシスト付自転車」のスタイルを創り始めたように思われる。 電車や自動車に積込み運搬可能な＜ステップコンポ＞は、小径ホイール、リジットフレーム、ノンサスペンションであるデメリットを差し引いても、坂道の多い日本の環境に相応しい移動手段として、また環境保全や交通システムの変革への期待も含めその可能性を評価できる。活用されるべき道具の一つである。 |

| This is an assist bicycle that has already established genre. Honda has enthusiastic to develop folding bicycles. This new "Step Compo" adopts an aluminum die-cast frame. The driving unit and battery are put into the frame. That's why the design possesses a beautiful vehicle body design. And finally Honda freed itself from "bicycles" up to now and developed the style of the "electrically assisted bicycle". It is possible to transport "Step Compo" by train or car. It has the disadvantages of road wheels, a rigid frame and no suspension. But it shows its value with its possibilities as a transport method for the Japanese environment with its many hill roads. With it, we can also expect environment preservation and a reform of traffic systems, too. It must be one of the tools for practical use. |
