奇妙なくらい日本的な楽器「大正琴」をヤマハはサイレントシリーズとして作りあげた。初めてそのニュースを聞いたとき「何故？」という疑問があったものだが、見事なまでに「新しい楽器」として成立させたその様を見ていると何時しか感心させられる思いとなった。＜サイレント大正琴＞は、これまでの同社サイレントシリーズのコンセプトに則り周囲に気にならない音量を実現したうえ、従来の大正琴の演奏に加えて弓奏にも対応するなど、単調な音色であった大正琴を、バイオリンやチェロに似た音色でも楽しめる「新しい楽器」として生まれ変わった。
シンプルで堅実なデザインは、古典的な従来の形のイメージをいくぶん残しその流れを見事に表現している。 ヤマハが独自に切り開いた「サイレントコンセプト」は、今後もさまざまな楽器をシリーズ化しながら新しい次元へ入って行くのだろうか。 |

| This instrument, a "Taishogoto", is a typical Japanese instrument, but rather strange. Yamaha made this one as a silent series. The first time I heard this news I wondered "Why"? But it established perfection as a "new instrument". When I actually saw it one day , I felt a feeling of admiration. "Silent Japanese harp with three to five strings" is realizing the volume but not disturbing the surroundings. This point is following the concept of Yamaha's silent series. It can not only be played normally as a Japanese harp, but also fits to be played with a bow. The instrument basically has a monotone tone color, but now, this one is reborn as a "new instrument". With it, we can enjoy tone colors similar to a violin or cello. The design is simple and solid. It expresses the image of the shape of the instrument that has up to now a little bit a stream of classic style. The "silent concept" was originally developed by Yamaha. Is it a new dimension, possibly even offering the chance to make some more instruments in the series? |
