これまでの液晶TVや液晶ディスプレーを利用した製品デザインはこれまでのCRTディスプレーとの差別化を目的として、液晶ディスプレーの技術特徴である薄さ、コンパクトさやフラットさとハイテクイメージを表現している製品デザインが主流であった。しかし、それによってどの会社も似たようなデザイン、ハイテクで冷たいイメージが強調されたり、同様のコンセプトの上での差別化のモデル・チェンジのための装飾表現の追加などが繰り返されてきた。
＜アクオス＞は外部デザイナーの喜多俊之によるデザインである。そのデザインは喜多俊之らしい、個性あふれシンプルな構成の中にも人間の暖かさを感じられる造形としてまとめられている。特にスタンドの部分の造形とスピーカーの処理などに顕著に表現されている。また、詳細デザインに関しても完成度が高く、背面部などにも一貫したデザイン・コンセプトが貫かれている。このデザインが今後、企業イメージとして定着するかどうかは分からないが、今後の家電のデザインを考える上で重要なヒントともっている製品デザインと考えられる。 |

| The liquid crystal display TV and the product design used for liquid crystal displays usually have the purpose to distinguish itself from normal CRT displays as usual. This main stream of product design expresses the technical character of liquid crystal displays as thin, compact and high-tech. Because of this, every company emphasizes a similar design, which is a high-tech and cold image. Model changes of the same concept are distinguished by the addition of decorative elements. The design of "AQUOS" was done by freelance designer Toshiyuki Kita. This design expresses his character, the construction of this mold is not only very original and simple, but with a warm human feeling. Exceptionally, it is expressing remarkably the molding of the stand part and the processing of the speaker. Also, the detail design has a high quality finish and on the back it has a united design concept. I don't know if this design will, in the near future, fix the image of the industry or not, but I think the product is an important hint for thinking about the design of consumer electronics in the future. |
