＜Beo Sound1＞はCD&Radioだけのポータブルな機能を持つ据置型オーディオ機器である。機能を限定した「シンプリシティーへの志向」もさることながら、この機器は「ラジカセは こういうデザイン、家庭用据置のオーディオはこういう形」という思い込みを破るものであり、新鮮な存在感を生みだしている。
アンテナを本体に内蔵して、ハンドルが背後に隠され、美しい形の詩ともいうべきピースがコンセントを抜き差しすれば何処でも移動できる、それぞれの場所に気楽に移動し向きを変えて人を中心に配置できる、そんなデザインだ。 もう一つのポイントは「操作と動きと形の精緻な生理的な感覚を持つデザイン」という点である。すべての操作は上部の陰に隠れたボタンを摘むように操作するようになっていて、 存在さえ見えない隠されたアンテナはそのボタンの操作で音もなく生き物のように伸びゆく。すべての表示は全面のパンチングメタルの穴を透かして表現されて、い わゆる表示部の存在を見せていない、CDの装置も隠れたボタンを摘むことで裏から突然盛り上がり現れる仕掛けになっている。すべての動きが生き物の感覚を持っていて、その上、これ以上はないというミニマルさだ。 音を出すカーブした正面のパンチングメタルの面 だけがすべてで、それだけのデザインという究極のデザインになっている。 |

| "BeoSound 1" is an install type audio equipment which has only a portable function as CD & RADIO. It has "intention for simplicity", that means restricting the effect. Not only that, but this equipment can break the wrong impression as "normal radio-cassette player have a design like this, audio for family use installed has a shape like that". It makes a fresh existence. For example this design is like that. The antenna is internal within the main body, the handle hides on the back. The piece, which has a poetic beautiful shape, can be moved anywhere at ease and changes direction by plugging in and out, putting the person in the center. And the other points are "delicate and physiologic design for a sense of operation, movement and shape". All control is summed up in the operation of a button, which is hidden on the top part. The antenna, which seems to be a hidden existence can be controlled with no sound, it expands like a creature. All of the representation is expressed trough the holes of punched metal, and it is does not show the existence of something like an indicator. Also the CD equipment has a system that is operated with the hidden button, it suddenly comes up and appears from behind. All the movement seems to be like that of a creature. It is very minimal which has not ever seen before. The design of surface only has curved punched metal ,which is on front here the sound comes from. This design is ultimate design. |
