ポルシェデザインは時々、世の中にフッと顔を出す。それでいて「ああポルシェデザインだ」と私達を納得させるだけの力を持っている。この＜FinePix 6800Z＞もシリーズで縦型レイアウトを追求していて、市場で独自の存在をアピールしてきたが、従来的な造形手法がほぼ出尽くしたところで本機は発表された。
ポルシェデザインはいつも素っ気なく無機質的とさえ思えるデザインで人の臭いが少ない。例えば自動車のポルシェ911に見られる計器類はすべて丸メーターである。指針の動きが円運動をするのであるから外形が円形であるのは必然性があり、時代がいかに変化しようと原理に忠実なものには魅力がある。 このカメラも光学機器でありレンズなどいくつかのパーツは円形をしている。また回転式のダイヤルもマイクロメーターの様なローレットが施された円形だ。明快なカット面と円形を巧みに生かして形作られたこのデザインは、金属の塊から工作機械で削り出されたような純粋さと清らかさがあり、「機械」としての香りが漂う。 ＜FinePix 6800Z＞はポルシェデザインの力量を私達に見せつけた製品である。 |

| Sometimes, suddenly, Porsche designs come on the market. But they has the power to make us realize that, "this is design is still by Porsche". The "FinePix 6800Z" series investigates the lengthy layout type. This appears as an original existence in the market. This machine was released when all the previous molding that had been in the past had been used. Porsche design are always simple. One can say it's inorganic, with no trace of the human being. For example all kind of meters from Porsche are round. The indicator moves around. That's why the shape of the outline must be round. It is necessary. This design still keeps fidelity of the principle while changing the era. It is fascination. The camera as an optical instrument has some parts with a round shape. Also, the rotation dial is round like a micrometer with a knurled screw, too. The design that gives the surface a clearly cut and round shape, has a feeling that is pure and clean, like it is shaved out from a metal block. It has atmosphere, it is really like a "machine".
