従来のペットボトルオープナーは機能面を優先させた形状が多く、使わない時はどこかに収納され、いつの間にか使われなくなるという末路を辿った。
しかし、人々の生活の一部としてもっと気軽に使われるべく、引き出しに仕舞われていたものをテーブルへ戻そうとしたのがこのオープナーである。 テーブルウエアーとしての魅力付けとオープナーとしての実用性を両立させたデザインは、どこかユーモラスで見る人に興味をいだかせる造形だ。素材は外側をポリプロピレン、内側をシリコンエラストマーを使用し、蓋への吸着性や環境ホルモンへの影響に配慮している。 機能面と美（審美性）のバランスはいつの時代においてもデザイナーにとっての課題ではあるが、使う人が抱くモノへの魅力、ファッション性、そして人が触れてどう感じるかという「美」だけでは語れない点も商品の重要な要素であることを感じさせる商品だ。 |

| Many PET bottle shapes up to now, give preference to the point of function. If not using that for putting or stowing away, it is not used in the end. But this opener, put away in a drawer, is coming back on the table for easy use. The design coexists as a table ware and as an attractive opener where its practical use has some glamour. And it has a humorous and interesting mold. The material used on the outside is Polypropylene, inside it is a silicone elastomere. It is considered to stick on the cap and influences the environment hormones. The balance of function and beauty (aesthetic) is always an important subject for a designer. The product shows a feeling for the fascination of people for material and fashion and how people feel when they touch a material. The feeling says that "beauty" is not the only point to tell in design. The other point can be an important element of design. |
